Media Monday – June 1

I thought I’d have more time today, but stuff happened, so I’m going to try to do this fast!

What I Read

I finished reading The Polygamist’s Daughter by Anna LeBaron. This was kind of sad, and kind of hopeful. It’s a true story, so it wasn’t nice and neat. I’m sure some readers would wish for different outcomes, but it’s a story that’s still being written.

After finishing that, I started reading Nut Country by Edward H. Miller. It’s about politics in Dallas, and I was planning to use this as a book set it Texas. It is a little dry, though, so I’m thinking I might start reading a fiction book at the same time.

Just this morning, I started on my spiritual book for June, The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis. This has a lot of chapters, but they are short and devotional-like, so I’m optimistic. Since my plan was to read this in June, I’m putting The Four-Fold Way on hold for now.

I’m also still working on Bizarre London by David Long.

What I Watched

I finished watching the last couple of episodes of Frasier (the reboot) last week. After that, I think it was mostly just Seinfeld, and I finished the series again! I did also watch a little bit of Gilmore Girls as well.

What I Listened To

More of the usual this week, but I did get completely caught up with the Crafty Ass Female podcast! This one comes out on Fridays, so I may not get a new one until the weekend. It feels good to have another on in regular rotation.

I also was able to listen to a lot of An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon on audiobook. Today, though, I spent a lot of my time listening in on Workshop Week. This is probably the best crafting conference I know of. It covers various types of art and crafts, so there’s something for everyone. If you’re interested, you can still get a free ticket at workshopweek.co. Sessions are available for 24 hours.

Well that was kind of short and sweet! Hopefully I’ll have more time to chat next week, but we can always chat in the comments throughout the week!
