Interesting week here, so let’s get into it!

What I Read

I finished The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley! This one was interesting. It’s not a typical time travel book, and it doesn’t make a big deal about paradox or anything like that, but it does ask a lot of questions. It actually ended up reminding me of Stephen King’s 11/22/63 just a little bit. It also brought out some themes about colonialism and self-determination. I liked it, but if you don’t like books without solid resolution, this one may not be for you.

In even bigger news, I finished The Stressed Years of Their Lives by B. Janet Hibbs and Anthony Rostain. To be honest, I’m sure this will be a very useful book for many people, but I was kind of hoping for something different. It seemed like the whole book was aimed at parents of kids with serious mental health diagnoses. This is really important, and could be something that any parent could face. I just was hoping there would be more about how parents could help their kids with more mainstream struggles, like handling normal amounts of anxiety and issues.

I hadn’t been reading much of this lately because of trying to finish the above, but I was also able to make some progress in The Purple Passport to London. I read about the Mayfair neighborhood, which looks like one we will probably not be visiting, since we’re not royalty-rich! I have seen some interesting suggestions, though, and hope to finish it soon. I also started Great Lion of God by Taylor Caldwell just yesterday. This is for a challenge category called “Taylor made me read it” – you’re supposed to read a book by someone named Taylor! This one has been on my list for quite a while, and I already have a Taylor Jenkins Reid book lined up for another category – stay tuned for that!

In spiritual reading, I’ve been making the expected progress with The Life of Antony by Athanasius and the Life Application Study Bible.

What I Watched

I watched some episodes of American Housewife during the week last week, and I think I might have slipped an episode or two of Seinfeld in, too. Since the weekend, though, it’s pretty much been Outlander! I’m about two-thirds of the way through season five now, and I’ve surpassed my audiobook position!

What I Listened To

I think it’s pretty much the same as usual here. I did figure out how to get the rest of the Crafty Ass Female podcast feed into my app, but I’ve still been listening to episodes of the Organize 365 Podcast when I have space. I may go back and forth, though.

So my reading life seems pretty exciting, even if other areas aren’t so much! How about you? What are you reading, watching, or listening to? Do you also have one area that feels like it’s getting more attention than the others? Let me know in the comments!
