It’s a new month, which always feels a little exciting! It’s also the start of the last quarter of the year, which feels a little terrifying! I still need to put the Halloween pillows out so I have time to enjoy them before it’s too late! If you’re wondering, they’re these Hocus Pocus-inspired slipcovers that I bought from Amazon a few years ago. These were actually what that inspired me to start have seasonal pillows out on our couch! They always make me smile, and it’s a fun way to feel “decorated” without a ton of stuff. Anyway, on with the post!
What I Read
I hope it’s not disappointing to hear that I’m still working on Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone by Diana Gabaldon! I’ve passed the three-quarters point, and I really feel like we’ve started the denouement, but there’s probably another surprise or two waiting in the next 220-something pages.
I’m also still reading Poustinia by Catherine Doherty as my spiritual read in the mornings. I’m almost a third of the way through this one, so I think it should be a pretty good bet that I’ll finish it this month.
What I Watched
Well I watched several episodes of Seinfeld, which I’m sure surprises exactly no one. But then I decided on something new to start! I decided to give La Brea a shot. Apparently this aired a few years ago, but I saw an ad or a preview or something on Netflix and added it to my watchlist. It opens with a giant sinkhole opening up around the La Brea tar pits in Los Angeles, and a lot of people fall in and find themselves scattered over a landscape. So far it seems kind of akin to Lost, but also following the people left behind “topside.”
What I Listened To
Well, I did catch up on my podcasts, and even got to listen to a few episodes of the Organize 365 Podcast this weekend. Nothing really beyond that, except I did also watch/listen to quite a few sessions of the Stress Free Cardmaking Summit that was over the weekend. I’m always intrigued with the beautiful cards people are making, and enjoyed watching the creation process. Sorry I didn’t put that one out in time for you to sign up for it, if you didn’t already know about it.
Well, that’s been my week. I feel a little like I’m still in recovery from our vacation, but I’m enjoying that we’re finally getting some cooler (or at least less hot) weather and the growing fall vibes! How about you? Are you feeling the urge to curl up inside with a good book or movie? Or even a podcast? Let me know in the comments!
