Media Monday – March 16

It’s Monday again! They just keep coming! I keep trying to come up with witty things to say up here! Anyway, it’s Media Monday for me, so let’s take a look.

What I Read

I finished reading The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata. Towards the end of it, as in, the last three chapters, it finally got “spicy,” I guess. Frankly, it seemed a little weird by then, I thought. I guess the author built up to it by describing his thigh muscles or whatever in every chapter. I also thought there were some, not loose ends, but tensions, that could have had a better resolution, like how one of the football player’s three friends happened to go to university with the main character. He asked if she had dated him, she said no, and that was it, even though it was clear that he (the friend) was attracted to her. Whatever, romance isn’t on my favorite genre list, so I’m probably inclined to be picky. This was an alright read, but I won’t be looking to read anymore like it.

After finishing that one, I checked out The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley for a book that was a Hugo Award nominee. It was nominated for best novel last year, and it was one I’d heard of before. I’m about two-thirds of the way through, and it’s good so far.

In spiritual reads, I’m still reading The Life of Antony by Athanasius and on track to finish by the end of the month. I’m also still reading the Life Application Study Bible.

What I Watched

I didn’t feel like I watched that much Outlander this week, but I’ve finished season four and started season five, so I must have squeezed in several episodes. I’ve also watched several episodes of American Housewife. My daughter says she thinks I’m a cross between Katie and Doris, and she’s probably not wrong.

I also watched a course from Leonie’s academy membership this week to feel productive.

What I Listened To

Pretty much the same old same old here. I’ve listened to all my regular podcasts. I finished all the episodes of the Crafty Ass Female podcast in my feed. There are more episodes available on the website, but they aren’t coming through on my podcast app, and I haven’t figured out why yet. I’m back to listening to the Organize 365 Podcast. I’m up to about a year ago, but it’s still a lot of podcasts because at least then she was putting out two a week.

I’ve also made progress with listening to The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon on Audible.

So that’s been my week, and I’m running out of time tonight, so let’s talk about you! What are you reading, watching, or listening to this week? Let me know!
