What I Read
Well, I’m down to seven books in my currently reading folder!
I finished reading Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. This one was a little different than I expected, but I’m glad I read it to see what everyone was talking about. It’s kind of a “be careful what you wish for” book, but I think it’s even more about the lies we tell ourselves.
After that, of course, I got started on Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz, but I’m not too far into it yet. The library says I have eight days left on the loan, so fingers crossed!
I’m still making slow but steady progress in Bizarre London by David Long, The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis, and my reading plan in the NIV Life Application Study Bible.
What I Watched
I finished watching We Were Liars on Amazon Prime video! It was generally pretty faithful to the book, and I felt like it kept the same kind of tension going up until the reveal. I also started watching Amadeus on Starz, and have watched three of five episodes. To round it out, I watched probably way more Gilmore Girls than is good for me!
What I Listened To
I’ve got my usual lineup of podcasts going. It grows a little every time I catch up on one, but the Crafty Ass Female is on hiatus since Kristen recently had a baby, so I’m currently not getting new ones. I do hope she starts the podcast back up again.
In bigger news, I finished listening to An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon! I immediately started on Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. I feel excited about this because this is the last book I have read in the series. Once I’m done listening to this one, I want to move on to something different in Audible, and read the ninth book, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, on my Kindle. Then, hopefully, it won’t be too long until the tenth book comes out. I think right now people are hoping for sometime in 2027, but we shall see. Diana has released the title (A Blessing for a Warrior Going Out) and confirmed that this will be the last book in the main series.
