It’s another media Monday, woop woop! This has been an odd week. I was not sick, but had a bad case of what I think was allergies. I had two really bad nights, went to the doctor to get some prescriptions, and then some better ones, but it took the weekend to really feel like I was kind of caught up. I went to work all week (except for stepping out for the medical appointment), so I think my listening generally continued, but I feel like my reading really suffered this week.

What I Read
Last week I had just finished reading The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, so I started my next library challenge book, a book with a bird on the cover or in the title. The one I chose has both – it’s Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang by Kate Wilhelm. It’s a science fiction novel about what I would call a soft apocalyptic scenario, where there’s no singular disaster, just society falling apart (kind of like in Octavia Butler’s The Parable of the Sower). It was published in 1976, so as you might expect it got off to a bit of a slow start, and so did I. I’m well into it now, though, and hope to finish in the next couple of days.
What I Watched
My watching life was a little more interesting this week. I finished watching the wrap up of the declutter challenge from Declutter Hub. I finished the second part and watched all of the third part of the “Building Better Creative Habits” series from Foxsy. Today I also started watching something called “2026 Dream Quest” from another creator I follow, Leonie Dawson.
I also watched some actual TV shows. I continued watching more episodes from season 1 of Outlander, mostly over the weekend. I also watched the first episode of All Creatures Great and Small on PBS, and started the second episode today. I don’t subscribe to PBS, but the episodes are available for free, I think for a week after airing. I know I’ve missed some of this, I think probably the whole previous season, but it’s the kind of show you can really drop into anywhere.
What I Listened To
Not much has changed here. I had my usual podcast lineup to listen to in the car. After those, I went with the Organize 365 Podcast to fill in. I’m up to 2025 on this one, so almost caught up to the present! Hopefully soon this will be in the regular lineup. I also continued listening to Voyager on audiobook when I have time to listen at work.
So that’s been my week! It was a little bit of a weird one, but that happens sometimes. How about you? Anything new in your media this week, or are you just into the same things? Let’s chat about it in the comments!
