Media Monday – August 18

Well, I’m at least starting this post in advance! Let’s see how it goes…

What I’m Reading

So I did finish One Day by David Nicholls. It was pretty good. Not my usual thing, but the further into it I got the more I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen, which makes for a good book in my book! (Ha!) I was, of course, a little spoiled by the library category I read it for, so I won’t repeat it here, but you can go back a couple of weeks if you want to know.

Moving on in the library challenge, I decided to read Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer for the category of a book under 200 pages. Mine actually says it’s 216 pages, but it’s on the library’s own list, so I’m using it! I’m actually almost done with this one, too. It is definitely intriguing, although weird.

In my spiritual read, I made progress in The Politics of Jesus by John Howard Yoder, but this one is going to take a while! It’s very dense, with a lot of footnotes.

What I’m Watching

I have some news again here! I finished watching season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. Since it was mentioned on this show, I decided to see if Perfect Strangers was available to stream anywhere, and, sure enough, it’s on pluto.tv! I’ve watched a few episodes of that now.

I also watched a few episodes of Arrested Development and Seinfeld this week.

What I’m Listening To

I listened to a little more of Taste: My Life Through Food by Stanley Tucci. I didn’t quite finish, but I’ve got just a little more than 30 minutes left.

For podcasts, I’ve still got my usual lineup. I listened to the latest episode of the Organize 365 Podcast, then went back to a couple more episodes of Craft a Life You Love. I decided that I liked the content of Crafty Ass Female better, it was just one of the hosts annoying me. I happened to know that this person wasn’t still doing the podcast, so I asked myself why I needed to listen to those episodes if I knew it was just going to annoy me. It was slightly painful, but I figured out which episode started the new season without the host I didn’t care for, and deleted the shows in between. I want to be clear, this was just a personal peeve. There’s nothing wrong with this person or the shows she was on. It was just not something I enjoyed, so I let myself do what was right for me, which is something I sometimes struggle with.

Phew, I did it! A whole post ready to go Monday morning! That’s what I’ve been up to this week, so how about you? Anything interesting or new that you’re reading, watching, or listening to! Let’s talk in the comments!
