Welcome back to Reading Thursday! This is where I talk about books I’m reading, and I’d love you to join in the comments, too!

What I finished
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig
So I gave this one two stars. I almost DNF’d it (did not finish), but decided to persevere. There were some interesting parts to it, hence the two stars, an “OK” rating in my system. I know some people love it, so it could be worth reading, but if you have access to some kind of summary or Cliff’s notes version, I’d go for that. There was just so much filler, judgment, and self-importance, that it was pretty off-putting to me. Like, how the author thinks that his young son crying while stuck on a motorcycle trip with his (literally) insane father is some kind of character flaw. And some of his thoughts about “quality” were interesting, but most of the book was just rambling about it when he could have boiled it down to a pamphlet.
What I started
The Dogs of Rome by Conor Fitzgerald
This is for the “Ciao” (a book set in Italy or by an Italian author) in my library reading challenge. It’s a murder mystery set in Rome, told from the point of view of the American expat detective investigating the case.
What I’m still reading
Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools by Tyler Staton
I’m at 64% on this one.
Mrs. Harris Goes to New York
Audible doesn’t show percentages, but I have 2 hours and 46 minutes left.
How about you? What are you reading this week? Let me know in the comments!
