Yes, I know, I missed a week. In my defense, I was sick. On the other hand, I did have some spare time at home. I used it to clean out my inbox, though, so it wasn’t a total waste. Anyway, sorry I let you down last week, but the good news is that I’m back with two weeks worth of media to catch up on!

What I Read
I did finish reading Elphie by Gregory Maguire. It was pretty good, seemed to read easier than I remember Wicked or the rest of that quadrilogy, probably because it was primarily about children. It’s not quite a prequel because Wicked also talks a little about Elphie’s childhood, and even her family before she was born, but it does fill in those missing years between Munchkinland and Shiz. If you liked Wicked at all, I think you’ll probably like this one.
I also completely read How Can I Help You by Laura Sims. This was, I guess, a thriller that takes place in a library. It was for my last library challenge category, a book that I found on display in the library. I did some reconnaissance a couple of weeks ago to find something, and they had this one in a display of books about books, which is right up my alley. I’ve got to say, this one was intriguing right up until the end, with a final twist at the climax that I didn’t see coming.
I read a little bit more of The Strength of His Hand by Lynn Austin, and then another library hold came up for me. This one was The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman, the second book in the Thursday Murder Club series. It’s nice to get back to the old gang with some new characters and a new adventure. I’m about 25% into this one.
In my spiritual reads, I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that I’m still working on The Politics of Jesus by John Howard Yoder. Very dense, but there’s also a lot of gold in here.
What I Watched
Well, I watched what I could of the summits I told you about last week. I enjoyed learning some new techniques for organizing, art, and card making.
I finished watching season one of The Paper on Peacock. Don’t expect it to be a true sequel to The Office, but it is a fun watch and I think kind of has the same energy. I think I watched some more Gilmore Girls in there too, but this last weekend I caught up with the new season of Only Murders in the Building. If you watched season four, you know this season is about the death of beloved Arconia doorman Lester and how it could possibly have been related to a missing mob boss, so that’s all I’ll say about that one. There are four episodes out currently, with new ones being release on Tuesdays, I think, so there will be more to come there. I also watched some Seinfeld in there, and some Arrested Development. I finished season three of the latter and started season four, and I get why everyone says it changed when Netflix picked it up. I’ll probably finish watching it sometime just for completeness, but it’s not at the top of my list.
What I Listened To
No surprises here, I don’t think. I’ve got my usual podcast lineup going, and have been listening to the Organize 365 Podcast when I finish those. I also was able to get back to Outlander a little this last week.
So that’s two weeks of my reading, watching and listening! How about you? What kinds of media have you been consuming? Let’s chat in the comments!
